Reagan and Vic’s downtown Philadelphia couples session was the perfect cure to my post-Christmas season blues. It was one of those sessions where we didn’t really have any set plan—we just explored the city and stopped to shoot whenever it felt right. Reagan grew up with my husband right outside of Philadelphia and I’ve loved getting to meet up and hang out with him and Vic each time we travel up North. A meaningful location is crucial to creating imagery that looks and feels like my couples, and shooting these two in their home city was so incredibly special.
The overcast winter weather set the stage for some nostalgic and romantic images. The flat and even lighting created the most amazing neutral tones, complementing the couple’s outfits. Can we talk about Vic’s Glen Check trench coat? I am obsessed. It’s also not every day you meet a guy with really good style and Reagan is most definitely one of those guys.
The great thing about shooting in a city is that every street looks a little different and carries unlimited possibilities for photos. Philly was no exception. We spend most of our time around the Old City District which has the most amazing history—it’s known as America’s most historic square mile. The streets we explored we had almost entirely to ourselves which made their Philadelphia couples session all the more intimate and dreamy.
Reagan and Vic have an everyday kind of love that comes through in the way they laugh, dance with each other, and embrace. I love how you can feel that love through these images. The whole set feels a little bit like a scene from an old romance movie. Their connection is familiar and safe—they love each other so well.
I’m so honored and thankful to have captured the story of these two in such an amazing city—Philadelphia, I’ll be back.
