A highlight of one of my recent trips out to Utah was photographing editorial bridals of Jenny and Bryson on the Bonneville Salt Flats. These two drove out from Salt Lake and hung out with me for a couple hours on the endless sea of white while I documented them in their wedding attire. Jenny wore her stunning, minimal gown from BHLDN and carried the bouquet I dreamed up with the incredible Denise Crabb. I wanted something unique, that provided a lot of visual interest, with yellow as the main color. Denise absolutely blew me away with her creation, and it was the element that pulled the bridals together.
The evening started with a bright blue sky mixed with smokey gray clouds and ended with a pastel pinks and purples as the sun sank behind the mountains. These two gave me the freedom to truly create–playing with poses, light, shadow and texture on the salt flats. The result was some of my favorite images ever, and I can’t wait to return to this incredible canvas to create more art in the future.
